Display file extensions for all file types!

A default installation of Windows XP displays all common files in Windows Explorer and My Computer without file extensions.

However, if you would still like to see the file extensions, you can customize the operating system to display them. Open My Computer and then choose Tools | Folder Options. Select the View tab, locate the Hide Extensions For Known File Types check box, and deselect this option. Then, click OK to close all open dialog boxes.
