Teach
your Word menus new tricks!
You can easily add variety to Word's user
interface by changing the Menu Animations setting. This setting determines how
Word opens menus and submenus when you choose them from the menu bar. There are
quite a few settings to choose from: None, Slide, Unfold, Random, and Fade
(available in Word 2002 and later). The (None) setting opens Word's menus
without any animation. The Slide setting opens Word's menus from top to bottom,
and the Unfold setting opens menus from the upper-left corner to the lower-right
corner. The Fade setting causes menu commands to fade into view. And the Random
setting alternates between all the animation settings.
To change the Menu Animation setting, select
Tools | Customize from the menu bar, or right-click on any toolbar and choose
Customize from the resulting shortcut menu. In the Customize dialog box, click
on the Options tab. Then, select a new setting from the Menu Animations dropdown
list and click Close.
