Setting up EICCD user home directories for Web Folder Access

ALL SETTINGS ON EICCD1

1. Locate user home directory in Explorer
2. Choose properties
3. Permissions and Shares should already exist but should be set at:
   • Share name: username$
   • Add SYSTEM to permissions for this directory. Give full control but permissions for share are not needed.
   • Share and NTFS permissions should be: full control for user, domain admins, and administrators
4. Open IIS Manager
5. Navigate to Home Directories web site and to WebDav virtual folder in site
6. Right click. Choose New Virtual Directory. Complete Wizard.
   • Set alias to desired. Usually username.
   • Browse to appropriate folder. Usually on Z:
   • Enable all permissions except Execute. Then finish Wizard.
7. Right click on new virtual directory. Choose Properties.
   • Virtual Directory tab: path on Z: to user directory Check all except script source access, Set execute permissions to none.
   • Click on Remove under application settings to gray out the application name.
   • Documents tab: uncheck “enable default document”
   • Directory security tab: Edit properties. Only “Integrated Windows authentication” should be checked. Ignore http headers and custom errors tabs.
   Click OK
8. You are finished.

Path to web folder will be: http://home.eiccd.net/webdav/username/

Setting up EICCD user web directory for Faculty/Staff Web sites

ON EICCD1

1. Locate user home directory in Explorer
2. Create folder called: username.web
3. Share this folder as: username.web$
4. Add user “i-anon” to NTFS permissions with Read Only access (other permissions will be there by inheritence)
5. Set Share permissions: domain admins full control and i-anon user read only. REMOVE EVERYONE GROUP.

ON EICCD-IOWA

6. Open IIS Manager
7. Open faculty.eicc.edu web site
8. Right click and choose New Virtual Directory
9. Set alias to the username
On the virtual directory tab:
• Set access to Read Only and navigate or type in the path to the share you just created. This should be \\eiccd1\username.web$
• Execute permissions should be “scripts only”.
• Click on the “connect as” button and enter: eiccd\i-anon with at present the standard admin password. We may want to change this password.
Documents tab:
• check “enable default document”
Directory security tab:
• Edit properties. “Anonymous Access” and “Integrated Windows authentication” should be checked.
• Ignore http headers and custom errors tabs.
Click OK
